Bolt On Rotating Latch Kit

1. Measure horizontal distance per weight distribution hitch manufacturer’s recommended

specications. Flush the top of the latch to the top of the frame. Clamp the latch to the frame or

mark the center of the holes to be drilled. Do this on both sides of the trailer.

Note: On smaller frame trailers the top four (4) holes are to be used.

On larger frame trailers the top two (2) and bottom two (2) holes are to be used.

2. Using a 1/2” drill bit, drill the four (4) appropriate holes thru the frame. Install the appropriate 1/2”

bolts, 1/2” washers and 1/2” lock nuts and tighten down. Do this on both sides of the trailer.

Note: On tubular frame trailers use the provided 1/2”-13 x 3” bolts.

On channel frame trailers use the provided 1/2”-13 x 1-1/4” bolts.

3. Rotate the latch clockwise. Place the chain into the slot.

4. Twist the latch counterclockwise to lock. Do this on both sides.
